Wheel of Fortune

From out of hiding comes the Fool, into the sunlight, as if being pulled up from some low, dark point on a wheel. It is time for a change. Staff in hand, he heads back out into the world, expecting nothing. But, strangely, things seem to happen to him as the hours go by, good things. Wandering by water wheel a woman offers him a drink in a golden chalice, and then urges him to keep the cup, just because she likes him; as he wanders by a windmill, he stops to watch a young man swinging a sword; when he expresses his admiration of the weapon, the young man presses it into his hand, insisting that he take it.

And finally, when he comes upon a rich merchant sitting in a wagon, right over one of the wheels, the man hands him a bag of money. "I like giving away money," explains the Merchant, "and I decided, just randomly, that the tenth person who walked past me today would get this money. You're the tenth." The Fool hardly thought he could still be surprised, but he is. It is as if everything good that he ever did in his life is being paid back to him, three-fold. All luck this day is his.

Here s my camera, my Kitty, and I.

Fall is falling into dark winter.
Lots of things happening. Kind of on the brink.

Mars is very close to us now. Closest than it will be for the next 300 years. I dont know what that means.

My sister's baby should be popping out this weekend.

Damon's cancer has gone into relapse.

Im alone here with my technology and my kitty.

Dave is coming this weekend.

Then I'm done work in december.

I feel very focused and ready but sort of aprehensive. All these new developments have yet to show thier true nature.

Art

Art

Viewing and discussing art not only soothes the soul, it also helps cure ills like high blood pressure and constipation.

A researcher had 20 women of around 80 years of age gather once a week for four months to discuss different works of art.

"The result was positive. Their attitudes became more positive, more creative, their blood pressure went in the right direction ... and they used fewer laxatives,"

A control group of 20 women who met to discuss their hobbies and interests once a week instead of art did not experience the same effects, she pointed out.

"There was a significant difference between the groups," she said, adding that the art group had continued to show positive effects many months after their last discussion.

"It's all about using art in a structured way," she said.

Cannabis

A study by University of Saskatchewan researchers suggests beneficial aspects of smoking marijuana atleast among rats, who appear to have sprouted new brain cells and besides benefiting from reduced depression and anxiety. The study's results ' have actually given a flip to the traditional and mythological view that associates the addictive weed in some ways with immortality.

The Canadian researchers , suggested that the illicit substance marijuana actually may promote new brain cells in region of the brain called the hippocampus that is associated with memory. They concluded that marijuana was possibly “the only illicit drug whose capacity to produce increased neurons is positively correlated with its (anti-anxiety) and anti-depressant-like effects”.

Unlike most addictive drugs that are known to inhibit the development of new neurons, causing loss of memory and impairing learning on chronic use, it appears that marijuana or ganja may actually be the mythological “elixir of eternal life” that Indian gods churned from the oceans. A sharp contrast from ordinary addictive substances, the researchers suggested that marijuana's neurogenetic properties may actually be unique given that the rats showed some correlation between their cannabinoid treatments, the increased nerve genesis and their altered stress or anxiety levels.

Marijuana that has traditionally been used by many cultures over centuries “for medical and recreational purpose”, as the researchers suggest appears to be able to modulate pain, nausea, vomiting, epilepsy, stroke, cerebral trauma and variety of other disorders both for humans and animals alike. But it maybe several more studies before the mysterious benefits of marijuana that currently stand shrouded in tradition and mythology, become accepted by the modern scientific world.
